Abby, What an awful experience to have to go through on top of everything else you are already going through. Unbelievably absurd to test positive for pregnancy that many times and not be pregnant. Another reminder that medical science is not perfect, as if we needed one. "Brave" doesn't even begin to describe how amazingly you are handling this journey. You write with humor and grace that touches my soul. Sending much love and hope. xoxo -d-
Oh Abby! What a CRAZY journey! Your writing is incredible and this story is truly hard to believe. I'm so glad you're able to have a sense of humor during this crazy ride. And yes, how fortunate to be able to have safe and caring women's rights. Sending love and hope you're doing alright. You are amazing. XOXO
You had me laughing out loud...like seriously out loud! I am reading and responding while waiting to see the radiologist so light-hearted brevity was quite welcome. Thank you Abby.
I’m literally at a loss for words! Omg!!!!!! I love your writing, Im in beyond agreement with your stance on women’s rights, and most importantly I hope you’re feeling okay and that you continue to fight like hell. Xoxo
I'd think this was insanity but for the fact that I WENT THROUGH THE SAME THING before my last procedure (an ablation on my liver). I kept telling them there was no way, I literally was menopausal and also my husband has had a vasectomy, and also by the way, I had not had sex for months, but they made me come back three times Fri-Sun for blood tests - which, like yours, were positive. But I pointed out that in a pregnancy, those levels should be going up, rapidly. Hence, I knew from fertility experience that I was NOT PREGNANT. Apparently, they paged the interventional radiologist multiple times about this, and finally he called exasperated, saying, "For Chrissake, this woman would know if she's not pregnant! Leave her alone, we are moving forward with the ablation."
When I showed up on Monday, literally the whole medical team greeted me with, "Oh, hi - you're the not pregnant patient!"
You really cannot make this shit up. And the fact that you actually believed that you were pregnant and had to prepare for an abortion is fricking NUTS. I just cannot even for you.
