Friday’s appointment was lovely, but it was not the final what will happen next appointment. It was like a pre coin toss coin toss.
On Friday we learned that my scans look good. I’ve been responding well to the treatment. You can say “wooooo!” or “yay!!” here.
Also on Friday I learned that I would need to confer with my medical oncologist to get the actual news. Good. I’m great at waiting. So I did. Allllllllll weekend. And then on Monday, afternoon (of course), it was time.
So here’s the news: No more chemo! My scans look good. I was surprised to learn that I’ll be doing immunotherapy every 3 weeks through February, but immunotherapy is easy, so I’m feeling good about that. I can even drive myself to those appointments and have some me time if I want. Self care comes in so many forms.
Now it’s time to schedule surgery and I’m hoping to do that ASAP. They like to do it a few weeks after the last chemo and I’m there now, so hopefully my surgeon can fit me into her schedule soon. Send vibes.
In other great news, I was under the impression that swimming was a no go with my port, but that was just another thing that I was dumb about and boy am I glad that Rachel, The Minister of Information was with me yesterday to flush out that info. She is an excellent cousin friend and I am forever grateful for her.
So, in summary, woooooooooooooooo!!!! Yay!
Please read the substack above...just wish I had read it before the end of July when I had lung cancer surgery.
